Cholera Fears in Pakistan After Epic Flooding

2.5 million people have ben affected by Pakistan's worst flooding in 80 years, according to the BBC, which reports that officials are worried about outbreaks of diarrhea and cholera. Videos posted to YouTube show flooded streets and damage in cities surrounding Peshawar. imranahmad131 describes the scene in his video from Garhi Baloch village, noting "thousands of homes were partially broken as most of the houses are not of concrete."

User notes: This video was taken on 28 and 29th July 2010 when the flood strike the Village Garhi Baloch, Peshawar (5 KM North from the downtown). Half of the residents of Garhi Baloch were badly affected by the Budni Nala (canal). This flood caused damage of billions of rupees. The video shows the walls of the houses fallen due to heavy rain on 28th July and then the flood on 29th July. The flood came to be a blessing for some self-seeking and cold-hearted people when they started catching the valuables of the damaged houses.

"Solar Tsunami" Creates Brilliant Northern Lights

A storm on the surface of the sun known as a "coronal mass ejection" pushed billions of tons of superheated gas into the solar system, which is now appearing over some parts of the northern hemisphere in the form of aurora borealis. The Telegraph reports: "Dramatic auroras were seen in Denmark, Norway, Greenland, Germany and across the northern United States and Canada" Tuesday night.

Do you still remember us?! We are still under siege! Darkness.... . And hunger..... Do you still remember us?! To get water we have to walk so far.....  To fill a bottle or a jar...... Do you still remember us?! We still have lack of food.....  We still fear daily hunger... And when we have no choice... And when the situation becomes unbearable.. . We try to smuggle... Some thru the tunnel... Do you still remember us?! Medicine is like rare diamonds.... .  Our kids...  Are dying every day in their beds..... Due to the lack of Medication.. .         And others...  Have just tears to shed..... Do you still...     Remember us?!     Death was falling everywhere.. .     It was like rain...   At hospitals...    At schools...   There was no difference between a young...   Elderly or a child...   An animal...   Everyone...   Was at death site!   There was No place...  To hide!   Do you still remember us?!     It was a genocide...  It was a massacre... It was Murder...   It was a vicious crime... It was a CRUEL action...  An act of a MONSTER...   The manners of a COWARD...   It was the silence of a friend... It is the dirty true FACE of Politics!   It is a FACT!   It's incomprehensible!   IT'S A PERMANENT SHAME! It was BETRAYAL!   It is some how believable!   But this is Incredible!!!   It is a bunch of hypocrites!  Double standards!! It is the continuous AID...  Made by...    The true forces...    Of Evil! .. SAME Do you still remember us?! The dead...  Were everywhere...   That sometimes we had no place...    To make even Our prayer.....   Do you still... Remember us!   At that time...   Some watched...  From afar...   Some danced at the beach shore...   Some were happy...   And joyful... Some said: "NO..."  To the massacre!   And the torture... Do you still remember us!   Many watched us...    Many carried...  The SHAME!   Many did not DARE!! Others said I truly care...   But now we hear from them very..very.. very..rare! Are you sure you still remember us?!   Now we have nothing...  But pain.....  illness..... And daily...  Sadness..... .   Do you really...   Still remember us?!  At least in your prayer???!   Gaza children and people implore you!  They are dying...   Due to the continues blockade! There is growing humanitarian crisis...   Happening...   In Gaza.....  There is an EXTREME...   Restricted access to food...   Water...    And Medicine!
